Preparing for NIH visit

Things to bring

Feel free to bring your child's favorite toys, objects, videos, music; anything that may be calming. You may also bring favorite foods and snacks. Pajamas and changes of clothes are needed as you may be staying for several nights. A member of the research study team will let you know how many days to expect to stay during each visit.

Arriving to campus

NIH has security at all of the driving entrances. All visitors must enter through the NIH Gateway Center. Security will ask for your government issued ID (e.g. license or passport) and may use a metal detector wand. Visitors over 15 years of age must provide a form of government-issued ID such as a driver's license or passport. An adult must accompany visitors under 16 years of age. You may park using the valet service at the main door of the Clinical Center (see map).
